About the Survey: We are studying the relationship, if one exists, between race, gender, geographic region, and type of crime and post conviction relief. To the best of our knowledge, the breadth of our study has not been attempted before. As such, some critical components of our study must come from criminal trial lawyers. This is why your participation is so vital. We are not seeking any kind of confidential information, nor do any of the questions violate the attorney-client privilege or infringe upon any ethical standards. They do not ask for opinions, conclusions, or interpretations; we are seeking factual information which is not available through typical court documents and public records.
Since we are asking for information that may span a number of years, we recognized that you may not have saved or even remember the information we are seeking. What you have may be anecdotal. We are seeking aggregate information, so whatever you can provide, even if you can’t answer many of the questions, will be most helpful.
It should only take a few minutes to complete the survey. There are no questions that ask for any identifying information. Since it is posted on a website, all answers will be completely anonymous.
